Oofda, this decade was off to a rough start. Like many families, we lost some loved ones and learned to make the most of living closely in a small home. In late 2020, we moved from Silicon Valley to Sacramento. Now we have lots more indoor elbow room for the family and dogs, kids have a back yard to play in, and I have a proper remote/hybrid office. We all love our new home!

We’re becoming more and more familiar with Sacramento and enjoying the lake and river, along with camping. In early 2022 I switched employers and now work at my dream company doing my dream job.

I started lap swimming again which is awesome and really helps my overall health.

Both kids are growing super fast and we love them so much!

Sebastian started preschool and Gwendolyn is already talking...she's keeping me on my toes.

Near the end of 2019 I started working at Hogarth Worldwide.

In 2014 Abbey and I got married!

We had fun traveling in my old 1981 Volkswagen Vanagon camper for a couple years :-)

In 2015 Sebastian was born.

We moved from San Diego to the San Francisco area leaving Disney to join a startup in Silicon Valley.

In 2016 Gwendolyn was born.

Abbey and I met at a costume party and started dating (she helped pull me out of those crazy party years).

I paid off all my debt for the first time in over 15 years and sold the BMW.

I completed the Oceanside half Ironman! It was a huge physical life accomplishment!

Here is when I started a pretty intense party phase which ended up lasting a few years...

Oddly, at the same time, I started lifting weights heavily, doing triathlons weekly (usually in a costume), and joined Masters Swimming.

Lots of playing on the beach in the sun and surfing.

These days we could drink on the beach, which meant huge beach parties every weekend.

Oh and also had regular nightly poker games with the dudes.

Basically just having fun and enjoying being young.

Graduated college from Willamette University with Bachelour of Arts in computer science and mathematics.

Was working multiple jobs, including construction, bar tending, swimming pool management, lifeguarding, and teaching swim lessons.

Moved from Oregon to San Diego for a real job and to spread my wings.

Started working at Sony as a video game tester, which was a dream job.

Grew up in Oregon, mostly on farm country with lots of land to run around and play

My parents bought a shiny new Commodore 64 and I had a lot of fun learning BASIC and creating my own video games.

For Christmas one year, my brother and I got a Nintendo Entertainment System (the original NES). This was incredible and endless fun. Don't get me wrong, parents still had us playing outside all the time, but video games were my inherent passion. I remember when the first Legand of Zelda was released, that gold cartridge! I had saved up money to purchase it from selling candy to friends and family :-) Such an incredible game for the era...

Another thing I was doing during these years was taking Aikido, a Japanese martial art, and studying the Japanese language.

My other main hobby, besides video games, was magic. I even did shows for various groups and worked at a magic shop when I was only 14 years old. My forte was cards, but I also did all the usuals such as coins, silks, balls, ropes, and larger props including chain escapes à la Houdini style.

Hello World!
